Are you tired of tying your hair into a bun? While this method works at keeping your hair out of the way, there are many other stylish bun hairstyles. One such hairstyle is the twisted low knot bun. Surprisingly, this hairstyle is very easy to do. After trying it a few times, you may find that it is just as easy as throwing your hair into a regular bun.

Supplies Needed:

  • Tangle Ease brush
  • 10-12 bobby pins
  • Firm-hold hairspray

Instructions:

Step 1:

Brush your hair to remove any tangles. Then divide off a section at the crown, twisting it together and pinning it against the head.

Step 2:

Pick up a 1-inch section of hair on the right side, twisting it together and securing it underneath the section at the crown.

Step 3:

Twist and pin a similarly sized section from the left side underneath the previous twist.

Step 4:

Twist and pin one more section from both the right side first, then the left side.

Step 5:

Take the remaining hair and combine it together at the nape of the neck. Place two fingers underneath the section.

Step 6:

Wrap the hair towards the left side while bending the two fingers downwards, hooking them over the hair.

Step 7:

Now twist the fingers down and towards the right, creating a horizontal loop with the hair.

Step 8:

Continue twisting the fingers, twisting the hair at the same time before wrapping it over itself so it’s laying against the head in a “knot” shape.

Step 9:

Slide bobby pins into the bun until it feels secure.

Step 10:

Spray the style with a firm-hold hairspray and smooth down any loose hairs.

Low ponytails are another easy hairstyle option to try. Instead of tying your hair up really high, you tie your hair down low. You can use a ponytail, ribbon, lace, or clip. Low ponytails are low-maintenance and so easy to do. Once you are finished, you may want to curl the ends of your hair. You can decide if you want your ponytail to be right below the crown of the head or down a little bit. Some people put a ponytail in their hair at about a few inches above the end of the hair. Once you put your ponytail in, be sure to add hairspray to your hair so that it stays in place.

Fishtail braids are another popular kind of braid. While some fishtail braids take a while to do, this one is quick and easy. Unlike a regular braid, the style is much more unique and creative looking. Here are the steps to making fishtail braids in your hair. The following instructions are for two fishtail braids, but you can easily use these same instructions to make just one fishtail braid.

Instructions:

Step 1:

Begin by dividing the hair into two equal halves. Put one half on your left side and the other on your right side.

Step 2:

Take one side and divide it into three sections.

Step 3:

Begin a regular braid crossing the side strands over the middle strand.

Step 4:

Next, combine two sections together and braid the rest of the section into a fishtail braid.

Step 5:

Halfway down the hair, go back over the braid, pulling on the edges to make the braid fuller.

Step 6:

Continue the braid down to the ends, pull on the edges to make the braid bigger. Tie it off with an elastic band.

Step 7:

Repeat the same steps braiding the other half into a second fishtail braid.

Of all the casual hairstyles available, this one may be the easiest. You must brush your hair very well in order for it to work. Once your hair is brushed, take a small amount of hair from both sides and begin tying it into a bow. This takes practice to do since you can't see exactly what you are doing. Once you have made your bow, secure it in place with bobby pins. As you get better at this, you can experiment with how big you want to make your bows. Remember to not tie your hair too tight, because if the bow is too tight, you may not be able to untie your hair.

6. Fake Bangs Bun

Have you always wondered what you would look like with bangs? With this hairstyle, you can have bangs without cutting your hair. All you have to do is wrap your hair into a bun on top of your head. Once you have your bun, straighten the ends of your hair over your forehead so that the ends look like bangs. Here are the instructions for this hairstyle.

Instructions:

Step 1:

First, brush your hair, smoothing it out to make a high ponytail.

Step 2:

Take a small section from the front of the ponytail and bring it forward to create bangs.

Step 3:

Pin the bangs into place at the length that you want.

Step 4:

Spray some dry shampoo onto your ponytail and work it in to add texture.

Step 5:

Fan out the hair in your ponytail, then wind it into a bun and secure it with bobby pins.

Step 6:

Finish this casual hairstyle by curling your new "bangs". Remember that this hairstyle isn't supposed to look perfect, so let it look a little loose and messy.

This next hairstyle may seem a little complicated, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to put your hair in a bubble braid as fast as you can put your hair in a ponytail. It’s called a bubble braid because the segments between the ties need to be pulled and teased a bit until they became almost round in shape, like bubbles. Here are the instructions for the bubble braid.

Instructions:

Step 1:

Put your hair in a low ponytail using an elastic.

Step 2:

To hide the elastic, push a Topsy Tail through the elastic and take a piece of hair from underneath the ponytail. Wrap the hair around the elastic. Take the end of your hair through the Topsy Tail and hold the end while you pull the Topsy Tail all the way through the elastic.

Step 3:

Divide the ponytail in two parts.

Step 4:

Start making your fishtail braid by taking a small piece of hair from the right side and crossing it over to the left side then take a piece of hair from the left side and crossing it over to the right side.

Step 5:

Braid an inch or so and then pull on the braid to create volume. Secure the braid with an elastic and use the same technique to hide the elastic like in step 2.

Step 6:

You have just created a bubble. Repeat these steps until you reach the end of your hair, and then secure the braid with a ponytail. While this hairstyle may not seem casual, it is actually very easy once you get the hang of it.

Once your mini ponytail is in the ideal placement at the top of your head for your top knot bun, secure it with a snag-free hair tie.

Step 4:

After your ponytail is in place, wrap all the hair from the pony in a clockwise direction around the elastic to create the knot.

Step 5:

Use bobby pins to lock your bun into place. Be sure to place pins at the top and the bottom of the bun, making a point to get strands from the bun and securing them to the head.
