10 Ways To Eliminate Stress From Your Life

Do you feel overwhelmed by life every day? Do you wake up each morning feeling like you just can’t wait to be back in that same bed each night? Are you so stressed by projects, family, friends, significant others, plans, and work that you need 10 cups of coffee to function each day? You might feel like you aren’t ever going to be able to catch your breath, more or less be able to relax finally. What happened to reading a good book with a cup of tea on the weekend? Do you want to feel more like yourself again? Then check out these tips to help eliminate stress from your life!

1.Determine Life’s Stressors

It can be hard at first to pinpoint just one thing that is overwhelming you and causing you to be anxious. It could be beneficial to make a list of things that make you feel anxious just by thinking about them. Another good tactic could be thinking about what is on your mind right before you go to bed. Either way, come up with some plan to identify what stresses you out the most in life and then try to formulate how you can change that.

2. Exercise

Exercising for at least 30 minutes every day can reduce your stress and increase your general well-being. This can also help to get your mind focused on something other than your anxieties of the day.

3. Stop Procrastinating

I know that some people are more prone to putting off tasks than others, but try your best not to put something off today that you need to get done. It will help you in the long run if you manage your time more efficiently. Try to break up tasks into smaller lists, so they aren’t so intimidating to accomplish.

4. Give Up Commitments

Now I understand that there are certain obligations that you have to keep up with and can’t just give up, like work or maybe a beloved hobby. But there might be things cluttering up your week that can be removed. Practice saying no to other people instead of saying yes. Realize that you can’t do everything, and cut back on what isn’t necessary and going to bring you joy.

5. Take Up Deep-Breathing

Deep breathing for 10 minutes a day is an excellent way to relieve pent up stress. There are many apps that you can find on the web that can monitor how “deep” of breaths you should be taking, how long you should breathe due to your stress level, and set a timer for you to follow. The best part is that you can manage this around your busy schedule.

6. Give Up Control

It is important to remember that you can’t control what always happens to you. Life can be crazy and unpredictable, and hardships and mistakes just occur when they are not your fault. Practice letting go of what you can’t control in life and focus on trying to be grateful no matter what comes your way.

7. Make A Grateful List

When you are stressed and overwhelmed by your current state of life, it can help to make a list of everything you are thankful for. This could be making a small list each morning, silently recording them in your head when you start to get anxious or talk them over with friends. Make sure that you remember that there is plenty in life that you can be grateful for.

8. Simplify Your Life

This can be multiple tasks. Sometimes we can get stressed just by all the junk and clutter that is physically around our houses and apartments. So go through your closet and get rid of those dresses you never wear, get rid of the electronics that are broken, and try to make your decorations not be so overwhelming. This can also be applied to simplifying everyday tasks that eat up your time.

9. Cut Out Toxic People

There are going to be people in your life that stress you out, hurt you, and burden you. I am not saying that you should not be there for your friends. But we all know those people that only take and never give. Cut out those individuals who are overwhelming you, but not adding any joy to your life.

10. Be Resilient

Learn to bounce back when life takes a chunk out of you. Be strong and surround yourself with positive influences and friendships. Realize that things are going to get better, even if it seems like they never will. So if you lost that job,  got dumped by your boyfriend, or just are too overwhelmed to realize what is wrong, get up today and keep going. Good things are just around the corner.

I hope that these tips can help show you how to de-stress your life better. No one deserves to live a life feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Take the step today to start living a healthier and stress-free lifestyle.
