Fall is such an amazing time of year. And with the falling leaves and seasons changing, there are so many activities you can do with your friends or family. So what exactly is on our fall bucket list?
Make Homemade Apple Cider
Sure anyone can go to an apple orchard and purchase their cider, but why not take a stab at it yourself this season? This treat can be made any time of year but is especially delicious during the fall season. Try it hot and cold to see which one you like best! Check out the recipe here.
Go To A Pumpkin Patch
Don’t you want to pick out a pumpkin for your house or porch? Grab a couple of your friends and take them to a pumpkin patch this weekend. Have fun looking at the different pumpkin shapes, and enjoying the other activities that the pumpkin patches offer.
Play In The Leaves
And not just because you are trying to get that perfect photo for Instagram. It can be so fun to show your kids how you used to play, or rake a big leaf pile to jump into with your friends. When I was younger, my mom used to make me a leaf house out of the leaves we were raking. Look for unique ways you can spend time with your family and even get some yard work done.
Go On A Fall Hike
Fall is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoor weather before it gets too chilly. Try to get yourself out there and be active during this season. Go hiking with some friends, take a bike ride, or walk your dog around the neighborhood. For those that are truly daring, you might want to go on a fall camping trip.
Attend A Football Game
Nothing says fall quite like football. Even if it’s just to your local high school or college team, enjoy being around excited fans and Friday night lights. Brownie points if you attend a professional team’s game.
Get Scared At A Haunted House
No Halloween is complete unless you spend a night getting scared with your friends. Take a group to a local haunted house, corn maze, or hayride. Don’t forget to take your significant other to protect you from all the clowns.
Watch A Halloween Movie Marathon
This could be watching classics like The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Hocus Pocus, but it could also take a scarier turn. Host a bunch of your friends or just your family to chill and watch some great films together.
Throw or Attend A Halloween Party
Who says you are too old to dress up? Halloween parties are the perfect opportunity to rock a Halloween costume and not be judged for it. If you don’t have time to plan one or didn’t snag an invite, just go out on a bar crawl with your friends.
Pick The Perfect Halloween Costume
If you need some tips for dressing as a family or with your significant other, we got you covered. Either way, try to think of a costume that fits with your personality and includes as much work as you want to put into it.
Pass Out Candy
There is nothing quite as fun as passing out candy to adorable trick or treaters around your neighborhood. But, who says you can’t pass out candy to your friends and co-workers? Bring a bag of treats into work, or just to treat yourself after a long week.
Carve A Jack o’Lantern
Who cares if you have no artistic talent, it’s just fun to try it out! Don’t forget to save the pumpkin seeds for a healthy snack later on.
Make A Thankful List
Because Thanksgiving is just around the corner, it’s time to think about what matters most to you. Take some time this season to reflect on all the blessings in your life.
Write Cards To Friends
Everyone loves getting surprise snail mail, so why not send your friends or family members a card this weekend? Tell them how much you love them and why you appreciate that they are in your life. You can do this around Thanksgiving or Halloween.
Rock That Blanket Scarf
And other fall fashions. I don’t know about you, but I adore fall fashion. Buy yourself a new cardigan and scarf to rock this fall. Try out different ways to tie your blanket or heavier scarves, and dress in fall colors like oranges, reds, greens, and yellows. The cooler weather is sure to be welcomed by all. Bake A Pie
Are the recipes Grandma gave you wasting away in your kitchen? It can be so fun to bake a pie or fall treat just by yourself. Think of making everything from a traditional pumpkin pie, to pumpkin cookies, to an apple pie.
Get Lost In A Corn Maze
There are many corn mazes out there that are hard for adults to find their way out of. Not to mention, there is most likely some great fall foods, hayrides, and other elements of fun at a corn maze for an affordable price. This is a great place to take the whole family, or just go with your spouse. Not to mention the pictures could be amazing.
Have A Fall Photo Shoot
With all the beautiful colors of fall, you’re going to want to make sure that you take a family photo or twenty. If you are newly engaged, this is an excellent time to get those engagement pictures out of the way. And why not have a fun photo shoot with your girlfriends? We all could use another flattering profile picture, right? Try adding pumpkins and apples for a sweet effect. And flannels are highly encouraged.
