Are you having a boy or a girl?? The day of his or her birth is approaching, and what better way to celebrate than a gender reveal party. But how do you reveal your baby’s gender? With so many options, what is the most creative and fun way to involve your friends and family? We have some suggestions for you!
Balloons and Dart/Arrow Gender Reveal
Fill black colored balloons with either blue or pink tempera watered down paint. The dark balloons will hide the inside color the best. Then have the mom or dad shoot at the balloons. You can either use hand-held darts or a bow and arrow. How fun to anticipate the excitement of when the balloon pops by watching the parents shoot those darts or arrows. And don’t worry about missing, that could be part of the fun!
Filled Baseballs
This is the perfect gender reveal for any sporty spice family! If there is already a sibling born that would want to try to hit the ball, you could set up a T-post with the ball on it. Or for an adult, just have them throw or hit the ball. I know a friend who used one of these types of balls and just threw it at their backyard fence. Make sure to throw it hard enough though, as she had to retrieve the ball and try it a few times before it broke up. Personally, I think it added to the fun for the ball not to break on the first try.
Smoke Bomb
A pink or blue filled smoke bomb sure makes a great effect for photo taking. Most bombs of this variety are made just to be thrown, and then the bomb will explode upon impact with the ground to reveal the color. You can get creative of where you’d like your photo taken and what you’d like to be doing for when the bomb explodes.
Cake
A pink or blue filled cake or cupcakes are a sweet option that will please your guests. The mom, dad, or sibling to the baby can cut the cake as everyone watches, and cheers as the inside color reveals either blue or pink. A white cake can simply be dyed pink or blue with food coloring for the inside or could be filled with pink or blue M&Ms stuffed inside. This will be a hit for everyone because they get to partake in eating the results.
Painted Canvas
For the artistic types, the parents to be can throw cans of mystery colored paint at a blank canvas on an easel at the same time. What a cool keepsake this would be to have and to hang in the family’s home afterward. The painting could even be hung in the baby’s room. If your other children are old enough, why not let them take a stab at throwing some paint on the canvas as well?
Whatever option you decide, make sure that you have fun and get creative with it. Make sure your camera is ready to caption this special moment forever!
