Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller Product Review

The Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller is an inexpensive double stroller made for two children under 36 months of age.  It's especially great for twins since it will hold two infant car seats.  It also has a similar amount of leg room in both the front and back seats.

What Other People Are Saying

With the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller, you get lots of options. If you have two infants, you can put two car seats in this stroller. It's also configured for you to put one infant in a car seat and leave the other seat open for an older kid. Or two older kids can ride. The greatest thing about this stroller is the versatility that it provides. Many parents loved how as their family grew and changed, this stroller just kept meeting their needs.

Most Notable Features:

Durability

double stroller

This stroller is built to last. It is heavier than some of the other doubles, but if you are looking at durability this stroller won't disappoint. One mom loved that she could just spray hose it down to clean it, without fussing over taking her time to carefully clean each part. This stroller apparently can take a beating and keep on going.

Folding and Compacting

double stroller

The Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller does take up a lot of room when folded down. This was a common complaint. Keep in mind double strollers are going to be much bigger than singles. If you have the room, this may not be an issue, but if you have a compact vehicle, then you may have a hard time getting this stroller in your trunk. The words “extra heavy” and you'll need a “very big trunk” kept coming up over and over again on reviews. However, those same people added that, they did like this stroller even in spite of it's size and weight.

Maneuverability

double stroller

Because the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller is an inline (also called tandem) stroller with one child seated in front of the other as opposed to two in the front, this stroller is narrower. Narrow is great for getting in between tight spaces like normal doorways and clothing aisles at the store.

If there is one thing that I loved about my stroller (not a double but still the same reason) it was that I could go into the bank, down to the grocery store, go for a run, etc. and never have to get my daughter out which worked great when she was sleeping. I'd be able to get all across town and do lots of errands all while she cozily napped, because it was narrow enough to fit in tight places. I love that parents of two young children can also benefit from a narrow stroller. Though the strollers with two in the front maneuver better, they also are much wider with most not being able to make it through a standard sized door.

Recline

double stroller

The back seat has a full recline. The front for logistic reasons can't fully recline. The nice thing is that you can put your youngest in the back and have him or her take a nap while your front seat child is sitting up and wake.

Cup holders

double stroller

The front seat has a cup holder but not the back. Some parents were hoping that the back also had cup holders. Though parents liked this option of cup holders, several did mention that the cup holders should have been deeper. When you hit bumps the cups fall out.

Recommended Weight Load

double stroller

Each seat on the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller can hold 40 pounds. So that's 80 pounds of children that this big stroller can cart around.

Off Road

double stroller

A common complaint for the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller was that though it was good on smooth surfaces, it was very hard to push on bumpy surfaces such as a dirt road. If you live in the country and will be pushing you kids around bumpy areas, or will be off roading with this stroller, it will be hard to get around. A stroller with bigger wheels would work better for bumpy conditions.

Great For Twins

double stroller

Parents liked that this stroller was especially great for twins. Some of the double strollers out there are more geared towards children of different ages. In those strollers, one of the seats is smaller with way less leg room, but with the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller, parents commented that both seats had similar leg room. And parents of twins liked that two car seats could fit in as opposed to just one.

Keyfit System

double stroller

This stroller won't hold many of the name brand car seats.  If you purchase the Chicco brand car seats, you will be all set. Chicco has a system called Keyfit, and that is what the stroller seats are made to accept. So if you already have a carseat and it's not this brand, be aware that it was not made to fit with this stroller.

Storage

double stroller

The Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller has a lot of storage room underneath the seats. This is a real plus when taking a day trip that involves walking for the day with your kids. One mother took her kids all around DisneyLand with this stroller and loved that she could pack all that she needed and then some for her day trip. It's also nice when souvenir shopping or making a light trip to the grocery store.

Warranty

This stroller comes with a 30 day money back guarantee warranty. However, the company would like the stroller to still be in new condition when you return it. You must also include the instruction manual and registration card.

Final Thoughts

If you are the parents of twins and want a stroller for getting around smooth surfaces, then most definitely the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller is worth your serious consideration. Because both seat areas are made with similar room, both children should fit comfortably for up to around 36 months. However if you will be going off road on bumpy surfaces, this stroller will be too hard to push.  Also, be aware that this is not a running stroller.

If you are not wanting to spend a high amount on a double stroller, then this may be the stroller for you. It is close to half the cost of many of the other double strollers on the market. For maneuvering around tight quarters like standard doorways or around clothing stores in malls, this stroller scores high. Because it is a tandem, you will fit in smaller areas with ease. Each stroller meets different needs. If yours are the ones I mentioned here, then definitely give this stroller a try. Many parents love theirs.

My Conclusion

For the price, the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller is a great double stroller especially  for the parents of twins.  It is durable and should work well for getting around on smooth surfaces.   Overwhelmingly, parents who purchased this stroller loved it. Though it is a bit heavier and can take up more space when folded, these minor drawbacks were small in comparison to the stroller's good features.
