Crock-Pot 16-Ounce Little Dipper Product Review

The Crock-Pot 16-Ounce Little Dipper is a perfect Crock-Pot for single people.  It’s also a great choice for dips, sauces,  and fondues.  This little Crock-Pot is also great for melting chocolate.  It has a 16-ounce capacity.  Simply plug it in to get foods warmed up.  Unplug it to turn it off.  This Crock-Pot does not include a dial.  The finish is Stainless Steel with black accents.  The lid is made of glass.  The weight of this little crock is 2.4 pounds.  The dimensions are 5.3 x 6.6 x 6.6 inches.  To clean, hand-wash with mild soap and water.  Recipes are included.

The Crock-Pot name has been around for decades.  The Crock-Pot Brand is the original maker of slow cookers.  I personally feel confident in buying from companies that have been around for a long time.  It says something to me about their history.  It doesn’t mean that you can’t give a new brand a try, but there still is comfort in knowing that this company has a history of satisfing customers with a product that they have continued to perfect over the years.

Let’s see what customers thought of The Crock-Pot 16-Ounce Little Dipper.

Customers who bought The Crock-Pot 16 Ounce Little Dipper bought it for it’s size.  So with that being said, most were very happy with the size since that’s what they bought it for.  It’s perfect for heating up a can of soup or keeping dips warm.

Features

This little Crock-Pot is very basic in it’s features.  It does not have a switch to turn it off and on.  Instead of using a switch you simply plug it in to turn it on and unplug it to turn it off.  Here are the features as reviewed by a customer, “This is basically a hot plate in the shape of a bowl. It gets plugged in and starts to heat up to one temperature. There is no on/off switch, just plugging it in turns it on. It does a good job of keeping dips warm and heating up chocolate though. I don’t use it a lot but I like it when I do.”

Ease of Cleaning

To clean, simply use warm soapy water and a cloth.  Always make sure to unplug it first. This little Crock-Pot is unlike the bigger ones in that you can not remove the inside stoneware.  It is all connected as one piece.  So The Crock-Pot 16 Ounce Little Dipper would not be dishwasher safe.

So Many Uses

I was surprised by the many uses that people found for this little Crock-Pot.  One customer wrote this, “My little Crock-Pot warms up very nicely, but I use it for pickling my jewelry after soldering and it really is an amazing little machine. Highly recommend for college students and singles that want to cook or keep their food warm, great for traveling because it is very compact..I actually will be buying another one really soon.”

One soap maker wrote this, “Purchased 2 of these to keep hot/process soap warm and fluid. Works well for that and am sure if used to keep food hot would work for that too.”

Let’s not forget the candle makers.  One bees wax candle maker had this to say, “We used it to melt beeswax and we dipped autumn leaves and pine cones in the wax. It did take a while to initially melt the wax, but then it kept it perfectly warm until we were done. This crock pot will be used strictly for beeswax, as it would be too hard to clean otherwise.”

This is a great little slow cooker to take to work.  One customer had this to say, “This little Crock-Pot is just the right size for a can of soup. I work in a factory and I don’t have time to leave and get a hot lunch. For the past year I have been putting a can of soup or ravioli in this little crock-pot about 2 and a half hours before I eat. I cover the top of the can with aluminum foil to hold in the heat. Just be care full that it doesn’t get to hot or it will hot splatter when the can is opened. Yes I eat it out of the can, but it is an inexpensive warm lunch and well worth the price. Plus I only have to wash the spoon.”

My Conclusion

The Crock-Pot 16 Ounce Little Dipper is exactly what it says in the name.  It is little.  But with it being little, comes a little price tag too.  So if this is all you need to warm up foods, then this might just be the perfect Crock-Pot for you.  Keep in mind that there is no on and off switch, and also no way to set the heat levels.  I wouldn’t leave your home with this unattended as some people did comment that it got too hot.  If you are there by it, then you could just unplug it if it got too warm.  It’s easy to clean and very easy to transport. From reading the reviews I found a lot of college students liked this Little Crock Pot. It’s basically like a hot plate.  I hope this review helped you decide if this Crock-Pot might be right for you.
