Material
This diaper changer frame is made of solid wood and not particle board. However, it was hard to find information on what type of wood. The Manufacturer details lists it as being made from Cherry wood, while the description on Amazon says it's New Zealand Pine Wood. We do know that it is made from solid wood, and customers are pleased with that fact. Also, the shelving according to customers is not made of solid wood.

Shelving
The shelves on the diaper changer are of the open kind. Some people have chosen to use baskets to put things in on the shelves. If you have pets or children who get into things, you may want to consider getting some baskets or plastic bins since this diaper changer does not come with drawers.
