The Delta Children Canton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is one of the most popular cribs on the market today. It has a sleigh-style headboard, pretty curved legs, plus a cool design that converts from a multi-positional crib to a toddler bed. In total, it converts to a toddler bed, then a daybed, and finally to a full-sized bed. This is a baby crib that you can use from infancy into early adulthood.
This crib has a warm and aesthetically pleasing look to it. It is safe and has passed all of the safety standards to date. This crib is JPMA certified, and it has gone through rigorous testing to make sure that your baby has a safe sleeping and resting experience.
This crib features a 3-in-1 mattress, so that your baby sleeps in comfort. It is built of solid hardwood with a non-drop side design. Years ago, most of the cribs that were made had drop down sides. Now we know that drop down sides are not safe. This is why it's important to be careful not to accept hand me down gifts of old cribs from years ago that had drop down sides.
This crib contains no lead. In addition to being JPMA certified, it has also met ASTM certifications.

Most Talked About Features:
Does Not Come With Side Rails, Mattress, Or Big Bed Conversion Kit
You will need to purchase the side rails, mattress, and bed conversion kit separately. However, this crib does come with a toddler conversion kit. Most cribs do not come with a mattress. You will have to purchase one separately for this crib also. As far as the rails go, most of the cribs I've reviewed come with the rails, so keep this in mind when comparing prices. Some of the cribs I've reviewed do come with a conversion kit and some do not.
When purchasing a mattress, it's very important that you purchase one that fits the crib exactly. A mattress that is too big, obviously won't fit, so it will be a pain to have to return it. But even more important, is to make sure to not purchase a mattress that is too small. Even the smallest gaps between the mattress and crib can cause a safety issue. Make sure that the mattress you purchase fits very snugly in the crib.
The price is about average for what you get with this crib. It's not on the high or the low side. Some called the Delta Children Canton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib an "economy crib." You can find lower priced economy cribs, but for what you get this is priced fairly.
Crib is Made in China
Some parents were disappointed to find out that this crib was made in China. Parents that commented would have been happier if this crib was made in the United States.
Ease of Construction
Most parents who put this crib together said it took a couple of hours to assemble. Compared to the other similar cribs that I've reviewed, this one is definitely not a quick put together crib. Most of the other cribs, parents put together in 10 to 20 minutes. So if you are not wanting to spend a lot of time putting a crib together, then you may not want to get this crib. This comment from a parent was actually very typical of the other comments, "It is a two person job, minimum. While building the crib, you may find yourself having to hold a piece in mid air while your partner tries to screw that piece in."
Other parents said that the directions were hard to follow. One parent said that the finished product was nice, "However, the instructions were terrible...very hard to read, mislabeled, and down right confusing. It took me forever to figure it out." So, if you don't mind initial work, you may be very satisfied with the outcome. It really is a pretty piece of furniture when finished.
Parents commented in the multitudes how especially pretty the expresso finish was. On the other cribs, I normally don't write a section on the color, but the beautiful color just kept coming up again and again, so I wanted to include it in the review of this crib. If you like a dark crib color, you might want to consider the expresso.
Some parents said that their crib arrived with a warped or broken piece. But, they also said that customer service was quick to fix the issue.
The Delta Children Canton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is definitely worth your consideration if you'd like a crib that will convert to a toddler bed, daybed, and then full-sized bed. It has a look that parents described as pleasing. The simplicity of this crib means that it will go with almost any kind of decor. The price is just about average for what you get. Remember when figuring out your budget, that you will also need to buy a mattress and conversion kit with rails for the adult bed. This crib has passed all safety standards and has been judged by parents to be durable. One disadvantage with this crib, however, is that is is hard to put together. Many parents became frustrated with the directions and how hard it was to assemble. But with that aside, the Delta Children Canton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is definitely worth your consideration. This crib will transition right along with your child as he or she grows.
