DIY Boutonnieres For Every Season Of Love!

If there is one thing about weddings that I know, it is that weddings are uber expensive. Often times we find ourselves trying to make the best of what we have, but what if we actually show our best, right on our man’s chest? Make your man’s boutonniere to not only show off your talent but to save a few bucks!! And the neat things about most of these items? You can save them until the end of time!

Step One

Get floral tape, a boutonniere pin, and a neutral linen ribbon. For this step, floral tape is green (that is what looks most natural with flowers. There are many options for boutonniere pins, choose the one that works best for you. The neutral colored linen ribbon will make the boutonniere pop against the suit coats. (Tip: choose a color that will complement your flowers and what your groom is wearing).

Step Two

Pick your flowers. You can use real flowers or silk flowers. Make sure you have one focal flower and one to two accents; Meaning, you will need a “leafy” flower that will complement your centerpiece. Think of this as the bridesmaids…Your girls complement you in the best way,

choose two accents that will do the same for the focal flower.

Step Three

Your accent flowers will be placed in the background. Set your focal flower toward the front. Play with your design until it is just right. staggering them can make the boutonniere look more real.

Step Four

This is where the floral tape comes into play. Make sure that you tightly wrap the stems so that they don’t move on your big day! You can either wrap the whole stem or only wrap the stem partially. It is all about how you want the style of your boutonniere to look (the exposed stems leave a more casual look while the wrapped stem leave a more formal look).

Step Five: Wrap the ribbon around the stem to make for a pretty finish on your amazing “did it yourself” boutonniere!
