Moms, do you want to save some precious time during your busy days? Then you may want to consider investing in a bottle warmer. In today’s article, we are reviewing the Dr. Brown’s Deluxe Baby Bottle Warmer. 

The Dr. Brown’s Deluxe Baby Bottle Warmer has an adjustable basket that fits different sized bottles.  The LCD Control Panel has an easy-touch keypad, as well as a one-button start function.  There are audio and visual alerts that will let you know when the warming cycle is done.  This will automatically shut off after eight minutes.  It also has a cycle memory, which means that it can repeat the preferred heating time.  This product will warm several bottles before you need to add water.  This is BPA free.  All Dr. Brown’s bottles and food jars will fit in this baby bottle warmer.

Leaks

There were many complaints of this Dr. Brown’s bottle warming leaking.  Here is one of the customer comments,

“It’s great when it isn’t leaking all over my counter. I don’t know why it does this, we’ve tried under filling, over filling, emptying completely and nothing seems to fix the problem. The contents begin boiling inside and it starts to leak where the reservoir attaches to the unit.”

Put Screw Caps On Instead of Nipples When Warming

Despite the many complaints for this warmer, some people did find solutions for some of the negative issues which included being hard to clean, leaking, and inconsistent heating of bottles.  For the leaking, this customer found a solution,

“I was nervous buying this warmer because of the negative reviews about mold, leaking bottles, and inconsistent heating. I’m cautiously happy to report that we’re about a month into ownership and we’ve had zero problems. I think the trick is to put the screw-top caps onto the bottles before heating them, rather than popping in a fully-assembled bottle with the nipple on. It’s not much trouble to cap them.”

Heats Inconsistently

One of the biggest complaints with this bottle warmer was that it heats inconsistently.  Not all customers complained about this issue, but there were enough that this is worth mentioning.  Here is one of the comments pertaining to this topic,

“This warmer is incredibly inconsistent: the same volume of the same temperature of liquid in the same bottle for the same amount of time, and one time it will be boiling hot and one time it will still be cold.”

Best for Narrow Bottles

This bottle warmer works best with narrow bottles.  Ideally, it’s made for Dr. Brown’s bottles.  Here is one of the comments about the bottle size,

“This is a narrow bottle warmer designed for the narrow Dr. Brown’s bottles. So if you like the wider ‘more like mom’ bottles that are increasingly popular, many of them will not fit.”

Hard to Clean

Very few of the bottle warmers I reviewed were easy to clean. This one is not easy to clean according to customers.  Some people recommended only using distilled water to cut down on mold buildup.  Here is one of the many comments left by customers about cleaning the bottle warmer,

“Needs way more cleaning than I ever expected, but as soon as you realize why it’s fairly obvious: It steams the milk and the milk steam collects inside.”

Price About Right

There were mixed reviews on the price. Some people thought it was overpriced for what you got, while others were ok with the price. It’s not one of the cheaper bottle warmers, but it’s also not sky high in price either. 

My Conclusion

The Dr. Brown’s Deluxe Baby Bottle Warmer will get the job done though it does have some flaws.  Customers reported that it can leak and also heat inconsistently each and every time that you heat a bottle.  It is also hard to clean, but may be less hard if you use distilled water.  This bottle warmer works best for narrow bottles as opposed to wide bottles.  After reading through the reviews, it’s my opinion that the price is slightly high for what you are getting.
