The heavy  construction resists warping for reliable roasting.  This pan is oven safe to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

The size of the Farberware Nonstick Bakeware 11-Inch x 15-Inch Roaster with Flat Rack is perfect for a family of 4.  It could also work well for a family of 1 or 2 if you like left-overs. As the name suggests, it is 11 by 15 inches.  It does not include a lid but it does include a rack.

Ease of Cleaning

Because of the non-stick nature of this pan, it cleans up really well and with ease. However, do not put this roaster in the dishwasher.  Some people noticed that the finish came off when placed in the dishwasher.  It is better to hand wash this roaster.  Most customers commented that food did not stick to it and that it was very easy to wash by hand.

The rectangular shape makes this a nice pan to use with lasagna.  Customers who bought the pan also liked using it for prime ribs and other meats.  Some customers did not like the shape and would have preferred it to be oval so that they could cook turkeys easier in it.  I think it is made for certain dishes like lasagnas and meats, though not specifically shaped for a turkey.  Shape is going to be a personal preference and whether you like this shape or not may highly depend on what you are cooking in it. 

Don’t Use In Dishwasher

I could not find where it said if this roaster was dishwasher safe or not.  However, I did find customers who recommended to not put it in the dishwasher because the finish started to come off.  Some people did put it in the dishwasher, however, there were enough complaints about bad experiences that I’d definitely recommend not putting this pan in the dishwasher.  To wash, soak first if there is any food stuck on it.   Then use hot soapy water to gently clean this roaster with a cloth.  Rinse and dry.  Make sure it is all the way dry before putting it away.

Clearance of Rack

There is about a 1 inch clearance from the rack to the pan.  People liked that it kept meat and food off the bottom of the pan without being too high up. The 1 inch still lets juices from the meat touch the bottom of the meat, but without letting the meat burn. Vegetables can also be placed on the rack and soak up the fat and meat juice.  Had the rack had a higher clearance, the food may not have touched the juice and also there would not have been enough room for as much meat and other food products on the rack.

Some people liked how the handles hung loose on the sides and some didn’t.  The preferences of what people liked was about split down the middle.  Some wished the handles were stationary and jutted out from the pan rather than being hinged.  Some of the customers that did not like the handles felt like it was hard to get under and lift up when the pan is hot and they are using potholder.  The handles are a personal preference.  Some liked them and some did not.

The Finish on The Rack Comes Off

There was some complaints about the finish on the rack coming off.  Some felt like it was from putting it in the dishwasher, while others felt like it may have been from too high of heat in the oven.  Whatever the reason, this was a common complaint.  It doesn’t mean the rack won’t work, but I’d be concerned with where exactly the finish came off. I’m careful with chemicals and food, so that would be my biggest concern with hearing that a finish can come off.

People who used this roaster with rack felt like it was sturdy.  Many commented that it has a heavy feel to it.  There were some who felt like it was too heavy.  But most people liked the solid and heavy construction of the Farberware Nonstick Bakeware 11-Inch x 15-Inch Roaster with Flat Rack.  There was a group of customers who felt like the old time Farberware pans were even sturdier though, than this one.  But all in all, most people liked that this was a sturdy and heavy pan.

My Conclusion 

The Farberware Nonstick Bakeware 11-Inch x 15-Inch Roaster with Flat Rack had some pros and some cons.  It is a nice size especially for a family of 4.  The rectangular shape is especially nice for lasagnas and meats like roasts.  Some felt like an oval shape would be better suited for a turkey than this rectangular shape.  This roaster does clean up easily because of the non-stick finish.  However, do not put the Farberware Nonstick Bakeware 11-Inch x 15-Inch Roaster in the dishwasher. Customers noticed that the finish started to come off when they took it out of the dishwasher.  This is a sturdy roaster and also heavy duty.  If you are looking for a rectangular roasting pan with a rack included, then I’d say you might want to take a second look at the Farberware Nonstick Bakeware 11-Inch x 15-Inch Roaster with Flat Rack.
