Are you someone who as a child ran around outside with bare feet until your soles were black? Do you love everything that is earthy, natural, and outdoors? Then maybe you should think about going barefoot on your wedding day!
I know that this sounds really weird, and almost blasphemous, to suggest that brides should ditch their high heels for no heels, but the trends don’t lie. Recently, brides who identify as being more hipster or bohemian, have been trying the trend of just covering the tops of their feet with barefoot sandals. This might be the point of the article where many of you are freaking out internally and thinking how disgusting your feet would be to walk down the aisle barefoot. Really, barefoot??
But I found that there really can be many distinct advantages to using barefoot sandals on your wedding day.
It’s Way More Comfortable
The hard part of finding wedding shoes is that you want to find those Cinderella shoes, but you also want them to be comfortable. For the most part, you will be in these shoes for an extended period of time. Do you want to spend your honeymoon with feet that are covered in blisters?
No Fear Of Tripping
Especially if you are a shorter bride, you might be wearing super high heels to better match your husband-to-be. If you have an outside wedding, the ground could be uneven, causing your heels to sink into the ground or you to trip over a root. Nothing ruins a wedding like a bride who face plants. Even if you are getting married in a traditional church ceremony, wedding runners and aisles that tilt upward, can have potential for you to fall. But when you go with the barefoot sandals, you are better able to control your balance.
It’s A Fun Fashion Statement
Have you checked out how beautiful these sandals can be? I’ve included a gallery below, but these sandals can be just as gorgeous as any high heel. If you are a trend setter, this can be a great way to show your personality on your wedding day.
Show Off That Pedicure
Every bride-to-be and her bridesmaids should have a spa day before the big day. I’m sure you’ve had your nails done since you got that rock on your left finger, but what about your toes? If you are going on an exotic wedding location, you are going to want to have a pedicure to rock on the beach. But why not get a fun pedicure that will accentuate your barefoot sandals? Plus the pictures could be amazing!
Dance, Dance, Dance
It’s hard to dance with 5 inch heels on, honestly, it’s pretty hard to do anything in 5 inch heels. You’ll be able to dance your night away with all your family and friends, free of pain or falling!
