Best Features of The Product
- Cup Holder
The cup holder, designed for drinks and snacks, is a favorite in the parent comments. In addition to it being a drink holder, apparently kids like to use the little storage hole for storing small toys as well. One mom commented this,
"The kids absolutely love the cup holder (and I love that it's built in and doesn't fall off like other seats we've had)."
The seat pad, harness, and buckle covers, as well as the 3-position recline, all help keep your child comfortable. The body support can be removed to make a comfy fit for your growing child. In the comfort category this seat seems to be a real winner with parents. One parent wrote this about the comfort,
"This seat has the BEST padding. Many other car seats have a great insert but the padding on the actual seat is very disappointing. This seat is soft (almost like memory foam) on the actual seat and back. The insert is just a bonus on top of that. Not to mention the fabric parts are easy to remove and machine washable."
With some car seats, installation can be an all day job. But according to parents, this is not the case with the Graco Nautilus 65 LX 3-in-1 Harness Booster. One parent had this to say,
"Set up was a breeze. Installation was SO much easier than my previous car seats. Using the latch system, I managed to install the seats with no give, which was nearly impossible with my last forward facing seats."
While another said this about installation, "It took me 10 minutes to install because you are able to adjust the height in one click. Out of the box and into the car in 10 minutes. I can't say enough to about this awesome booster. I'm sure your child will love it too!"
This car seat has a great price. It is less than half of some of the other similar car seats on the market. An added benefit is that for the price you can use it for your child from 30-120 pounds.
With anything child related, things need to be able to be cleaned up. Car seats are no exception. They can get dirty pretty quickly, especially if your child will be eating while in it. Thankfully, this car seat has a cushion that is machine washable. The metal and plastic parts can be cleaned with mild soap and cool water. The buckle can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The harness straps may be spot cleaned. Parents seemed happy without complaints on the the cleaning of the Graco Nautilus 65 LX 3-in-1 Harness Booster.
The Graco Nautilus 65 LX 3-in-1 Harness Booster has passed all of the safety standards.
A common complaint from many parents was the fact that they had to rethread the straps. Another common complaint is that the strap is tight and when the straps need adjusted, it requires a lot of muscle power.
One parent had this to say about the straps, "My main issues with this seat are: the muscle required to reposition the crotch buckle and the position of the harness straps at the neck. In order to reposition the crotch buckle you need to remove it and reinsert it. The removing part was extremely difficult...I basically turned the metal piece sideways, jammed the very end back through the hole as far as I could (which wasn't far), and because of how it's sewn and turned, it was very thick, so I placed both my feet on the inside of the seat and pulled the other end pretty darn hard to get it through."
I kept seeing this strap problem coming up. A father had said this, "Pulling the strap to tighten the harness that holds my kid in the seat is impossible. It's extremely difficult. In fact, pulling Excalibur from a stone would be easier than tightening the strap. Heck, being unworthy and picking up Thor's hammer is easier than tightening the strap. It's so difficult to pull the strap to tighten, you will end up picking up the car seat before it tightens.
If you are looking for an inexpensive booster car seat, than you may want to give the Graco Nautilus 65 LX 3-in-1 Harness Booster a good look. Overall, parents seemed very happy about the price. And who wouldn't like this price? It's about half the price of some of the similar car seats on the market. One complaint that did surface a lot was that adjusting the straps can take a lot of strength. Once the straps are adjusted, parents seemed very satisfied with this car seat.
A nice feature is the cup holder. Kids liked to use the cup holder for small toy storage in addition to drinks. Parents were very happy with the comfort level that their children experienced while sitting in this seat. The ease of installation was also another great attribute to this car seat. So aside from needing some muscle power when adjusting the straps, I give this car seat two thumbs up.
