Bottom Band is Thick and Supportive But Not Covered in Material
If you look at the photo of this bra, you can see that the bottom band is elastic and not covered by additional material. It’s nice that the band is wide and not too thin because thinner bands can dig into your skin and constrict more. However, it would have been nice if the manufacturer would have covered up the band in some type of material to make it even more comfortable.
A woman explains about the band issue,
” It really does need to be covered by some kind of fabric, but this is by far the best quality to price that I have found on one of these bras and this is the only brand that I can find that has the pull down clips for nursing and doesn’t have the hook and eye closure in the back (which I now know that I cannot sleep with), so it’s definitely worth it to me to just sew a piece of fabric over it.”
No Wire Is Nice
I’m not sure who invented wires in bras, but seriously, of all places where wires shouldn’t be, it’s in maternity bras. I have yet to find any comments that say anyone felt like a hardwire in their nursing bra was comfortable. And yes, some nursing bras do have wires in them. But the Gratlin Women’s Full Support Comfort Plus Size Cotton Maternity Nursing Bra is not one of them. Women who left comments were very happy about not having to contend with a wire and their changing breast sizes while pregnant and nursing.
Here is one comment that talks about the bra having enough support without a wire inserted, “Good support, thick straps, easy to use, comfortable because there is no wire.”
Runs Small. Good Idea To Size Up
I found enough comments about this bra running small in size, to include it in this review. When ordering, I recommend to go up 2 sizes for a better fit. I’m not sure who messed up that much on the sizing chart, but a lot of women who liked this bra commented that the sizing was way off.

“By their sizing chart, I needed a L. I bought an XL to be sure it wasn’t too small. The XL is far too small!! They need to fix their sizing chart. Customers should buy 2 sizes up from what it says!”

“Well constructed, but WAY too small. You would expect a 3xl to be at least equivalent to 42-46 (as consistent with other sizing charts). It was probably closer to a 38-40.”

My Conclusion
The Gratlin Women’s Full Support Comfort Plus Size Cotton Maternity Nursing Bra scored well with women on the comfort factor. There is no uncomfortable underwire nor is this nursing bra too constricting. The wide band on the bottom is a nice feature except it would be nice if it was covered in a material other than just elastic. This bra does run very small, so if you order it, make sure to go up about 2 sizes. Because it comes as a two pack, the price is very good.
