"I bought this product about 5 months ago to combat the extreme heat the California summer awarded us this year and was neither incredibly impressed nor sorely disappointed. Like many other floor air conditioners, it doesn't do the best room cooling in an open area. For context, our entire condo is about 1200 sqft and we tried at first to leave this in our living room. With the blinds closed, an additional Vortex fan circulating air, and blankets blocking the hallway and kitchen entryways, it managed to cool the space down a few degrees from unbearable to tolerable-now-that-I've-had-a-few-frozen-margaritas. The noise level is about as loud as other air conditioners as well but not so loud that you can't tune it out or become used to it after a bit. Also, as an aside the vent kit was very easy to set up and you don't ever have to drain water, which I appreciated.  Moving this to the smaller space of our room made it much easier to appreciate the work it was doing. This air conditioner cooled down our room very effectively in a relatively short amount of time. We left it running throughout the night to maintain the temp and didn't have a problem sleeping despite the noise.  Just don't have super high expectations of turning your place into the arctic with this unit alone and you won't be disappointed."
