The iBaby Wi-Fi Wireless Digital Baby Video Camera with Night Vision and Music Player has a maximum area coverage of a 360 degree pan and 110 degree tilt.  It will play soothing music for your baby using the iBaby music player and record your voice-over of his or her favorite bedtime story with the iBaby voice recording. You can watch your baby in clear HD day or night from anywhere, and also capture images in clear quality. Included in your purchase is an easy to use free iOS and Android Applications viewable from your PC, iPhone, IPod Touch, or iPad.

The video resolution is 320p with night vision.  The iBaby Wi-Fi Wireless Digital Baby Video Camera also has sound and motion alerts.  Unlimited user access with privacy settings are also included on this monitor with sleep mode and control access.  You can also take videos and photos with social media sharing.  It allows you to receive alerts even when you’re talking on the phone.

Durability

The durability of this video monitor seems to be good. I was surprised at the positive comments on durability since there were negative comments on the reliability.  It seems as though once you get this monitor working,  it does last.  Here is a sample of a positive comment on the durability,

“Tried and True! 3 years and still going strong!  Having been an iBaby customer for 3 years now and having my recommendations resulted in 80+ purchases of iBaby products, I can say with absolute certainty that these are the products you’ve all been waiting for!  Simple, reliable, portable, and durable are just a few words that I can use to describe without going into a long story about my family’s successful experiences.”

Features

There were several common complaints on the features.  One was that the camera can’t look down and also doesn’t have a way to be mounted on a wall.

Here is one of the comments,

“It can’t look down – of course it can’t turn 360 in all directions, but you’ll never have your baby monitor under the bed, so why did they allow it to look directly up and not down. This makes it very difficult to use on a shelf above the crib. Ours is above the door on a shelf of it’s own and we had to prop it up with paint stir sticks to get it to see the entire bed on the other side of the room. This wouldn’t be a problem if they had wall mounting hardware, but they do not, and with the way it connects I do not believe it will be able to be mounted sideways, so  it would ever be able to look down.”

Reliability

Unfortunately, there were a lot of negative comments on the reliability of this baby monitor.  Here is one of many,

“App freezes from time to time and we don’t feel it is reliable for an all night monitor. App is also difficult to get more than one device or allow more than one user to view simultaneously. Good for monitoring for short periods of time. Would not recommend.”

Here is one more sampling of the many negative comments on the reliability,

“The product is a much better upgrade on the installation and the quality of video side, but suffers badly when it comes to connectivity and reliability.  Very few tricks can be done to re-establish connection when its lost apart from turning it off and then on.  iBaby offers no support and doesn’t reply to the forums or questions.  Their troubleshooting is basically non-existent and they never return calls or answer emails.  If you are lucky and it works from the first installation, then its a great product.  If it doesn’t, then you are stuck.”

Ease of Set Up

The people who bought the iBaby Wi-Fi Wireless Digital Baby Video Camera with Night Vision and Music Player were overwhelmingly commenting on how easy it was to set up. Here is just one of the many positive comments on ease of set up,

Size

This monitor measures 7 x 7 x 7 inches in diameter and weighs 2.6 pounds.  It is heavier than most of the monitors that I’ve reviewed and slightly larger too.  There were no comments on the size of this monitor so it seemed to be a non-issue.

Safety

Due to this monitor losing connection often, many of the parents did not give it high marks in safety.  Here is one of the many remarks on safety,

“Can’t rely on this product to safely monitor my child with app update. Sound is horrible and randomly shuts down. Had to purchase another monitor as there has been no solution to the problem.”

My Conclusion 

The iBaby WiFi Wireless Digital Baby Video Camera with Night Vision has some nice features.  It also appears to be long lasting.  The biggest issue seems to be that it loses connection often. This creates a safety issue and a pain for parents. On a good note, it does set up very easily and once you get it going it is durable.   Some customers were happy with this monitor, but there were a lot who were not due to the disadvantages that I just mentioned.
