The handles are made strong and durable for when placing or taking large meats like roasts and turkey in and out of the oven.  It is sturdy and easy to clean with a removable rack that is designed to rest at the perfect height within the roaster.  The rack and rack height are made to keep food cooking out of the oils and excess juices.

This roaster and rack are very easy to clean according to the people who have cooked and cleaned them.  You can either wash it by hand or put it in the dishwasher since it is dishwasher safe.  As with all non-stick coated pans like this one, care should be taken to not scrape off the non-stick coating.  Take extra care and do not use abrasive material when cleaning your KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack.

This roaster did well with heat as high as 500 degrees without warping or showing any signs of damage.  The KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack has proved itself with customers as being durable and not falling apart under high heat. This is not always the case.  Some roasters can warp a bit under high heat.

Unfortunately, this roaster does not have a lid nor do many of the other roasters of this type with a rack included.  Some people were disappointed that a lid wasn’t included for those times that you really want to keep moisture in.  You still could add aluminum foil over the top if you wanted to.  But I agree a lid would be an added bonus if it would have been included.

People liked the shape and size of the handles.  Handles may seem like a second thought, as in not that important.  But when you go to lift a heavy turkey out of the oven combined with the weight of the roaster and rack, you will be glad that you are dealing with sturdy handles.  People with small ovens in particular really liked the vertical handles.  This roaster’s handles performed well according to those who cook with it.

The KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack is no small roaster.  It is going to hold a lot of food and also take up a lot of oven space. As one customer explains,

“It fits nicely in a standard size oven, but definitely takes up a full rack. It’s nice having a larger roaster for holiday parties, and I’m looking forward to using it for lots of different meals.”  

If you want a big roaster and your oven can fit a 16 x 13 x 3 inches size pan, than this may be perfect if you want to cook a lot of food.

This roaster with rack holds the heat well.  It aids in cooking foods evenly no matter where the food is placed in the roaster pan.  Some feel like it is the thickness of the roaster that helps to hold in the heat.  Judging by its weight the KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack is thick.  I didn’t find complaints of food not cooking well in it.

The price is definitely high on the KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack, but I didn’t find people complaining about the price.  Instead, I found comments saying how you get what you pay for.  And that a quality pan like this is worth every penny.  I would have been hesitant to pay such a high price for a roaster like this until I heard how much people praised it.

“High Quality” are two words that just kept coming up as I learned all I could about the KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack.  Some customers commented that this is the type of roaster that you see in high end and professional kitchens.  I don’t know you about you, but if professionals say it’s good, then I feel it must be a good choice for my home cooking needs.

My Conclusion 

The KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack is a high quality roaster.  The price is high, but customers were very satisfied with how it performed.  It is easy to clean, can withstand high heat, and includes a non-stick rack.  People really liked the handles and how they were made to set vertically instead of horizontally.  Customers who have small ovens felt like it was much easier to get this roaster out of the oven with the vertical handles.  This pan holds heat well due to the thick metal that it is made from. Basically this roaster and rack speak quality all the way through.  With cheaper roasters and racks you can get warping, but not with this one.  If you have the extra money to spend, I think it’s worth it to purchase a KitchenAid KC1T16RP 16″ Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Roaster with Rack.
