A Letter To My Bridesmaids On My Wedding Day

Dear Bridesmaids,

You are it. My A-team. My best friends. My people. I can’t fully describe in a letter how much you’ve all individually meant to me, but I can say that I wouldn’t be the person I am without you. I know that now that I am getting married you are afraid that our relationship is going to change. That I am going to be busy living the married life and not have time to hang out with my girls. I just want to tell you that will never happen. Though I might be a little busier and in a time of transition, I still want you to know that I am always a call, text, or email away.

You can still come over to my apartment and cry when that boy breaks your heart. You can still come to my apartment for wine nights and movies to just catch up. You can still come to my apartment when you need to vent about work and hardships you are going through. I’m right here.

I could not have done college or frankly real life without you. Thanks for practically living in my dorm rooms, always being game to order a pizza, and for giving me advice when that guy wasn’t worth my time. Thanks for holding my hair when I couldn’t stop throwing up on my 21st birthday, for being game to stay in and watch Netflix, and for helping me study for all my midterms and finals.

Thanks for sticking with me as we crossed over the threshold into adulthood. Thanks for taking my phone calls when I cried to you about moving. Thanks for helping me decorate my apartment and not laughing too much about my cheesy taste. Thanks for visiting me in the dead of winter and the heat of summer. Thanks for skyping and calling me every week even when we were hundreds of miles away.

Most importantly, thanks for all the work you’ve put into making this my dream wedding. I know that I could’ve been a Bridezilla at times, but I want to thank you for being with me through it all. For being ecstatic when I asked you to stand by my side, to holding my hand when that vendor canceled on me unexpectedly, to planning the best bachelorette party ever. Thanks for hand-making a million of those crepe paper decorations, and bringing over the wine when I just needed to take a moment.  I am so privileged to call you guys my best friends, and I hope that this letter can accurately convey to you how big the love in my heart is for you all.

When it’s your big day, I’m your girl,

Your Bride
