Safety

This bouncer is stable and has no rough edges.  If used properly and only up to 4 months of age, your baby should be safe in the Stokke Steps Bouncer.

Price

The price of the Stokke Steps Bouncer is extremely high.  I’m not sure why it is so pricey, since it is a very simply made baby bouncer.  I personally can’t imagine purchasing something so pricey without many features to warrant the high price.

Ease of Cleaning

The Stokke Steps Bouncer is machine washable.  One parent commented this about the ease of cleaning,  

“The Stokke Bouncer is of very high quality. Our son loves it. It’s robust, easy to clean and has a very nice bright orange color. The small hook on the top can accommodate many different toys. The seat belt is easily adjustable. The angle of the bouncer has to be adjusted depending on the weight of the baby.”

Size

The size of this bouncer measures 21 x 25 inches with a folded height of 5 inches.  The weight is 7.7 pounds.  There was only one comment on the size.  Here it is,

“you need space for it, so if you live in a smaller apartment and want something that’s easier to carry around, this is not it.”

Durability

I didn’t find any customer comments that reported on whether they felt this bouncer was durable or not.

Features

Since there were not a lot of reviews on this bouncer, I’m going to quote one of the negative comments about the features.  It was mentioned more than once with different parents that the springiness was not enough for their baby to bounce.

Here is one of the comments,

“Frankly, I’m not impressed. The bouncing mechanism became very squeaky after 2 or 3 days of use. We managed to rectify that with WD40 but for a product of this supposed quality and price, it’s disappointing. I scoured the Internet and other mothers experienced the same issue.  A smaller sized baby would not be able to bounce him or herself. My husband and I have to bounce it for her and you need to exert a fair amount of pressure which I don’t think is healthy for the baby’s brain.  Mounted on the high chair, my baby was very uncomfortable. She slid down and the belt part dug into her thighs (it’s not padded). I won’t let her to use it when mounted.”

Not all of the comments were negative.  Some parents loved this bouncer.  Here is one of them,

 “We used this bouncer with the Stokke Steps chair and loved it. The baby could sit with us at dinner and we also used it when we started feeding her solids. She’s six months old now and we just transitioned to the high chair inserts. This is one of our favorite baby gear items!”

My Conclusion 

The Stokke Steps Bouncer had very mixed reviews.  Because some customers liked it while others did not, it was hard to get a true feel for this bouncer.  Some mentioned that it did not have enough spring to it for their baby to bounce without assistance from the parent.  The price is very high for some reason.   This bouncer does appear safe, though some of the parents raved about it.  Therefore, it’s really up in the air as to what your response will be like if you purchase this.
