Tastebuds is a fun, unique dating app that matches members with those who have similar music tastes.  Instead of answering a list of questions, you set your username and password and choose who your favorite musician is.  Because it is so simple, this is a good site for those who don't want to get serious right away.  You will need to write you age and city, but nothing that is too personal that it wouldn't be safe.  This dating app is free if you choose to have a basic account.  You can, however, pay per month for a membership. Similar to Facebook, users can add and message matches.

Great For Those Not Wanting To Get Too Serious Right Away

Because Tastebuds doesn't take you through a series of serious questions, this is a good app for those who want to try a simple dating app.

Not Limited To Geographical Distances For Matches

One feature of Tastebuds that makes it stand out from the rest, is that the app will show you all of your matches.  Some other dating apps limit you to a geographical radius.  This may not be practical if a seemingly perfect match shows up on the other side of the world, but it does widen your choices greatly.

Preferences Not Included

A lacking feature of Tastebuds is that it doesn't ask you for preferences.  For example, a Christian and an Atheist may have troubled waters ahead if they were to date.  With Tastebuds, the simplicity of talking about a similar type of music is the beauty of this app, but in other ways a drawback.

Musical Taste Is A Good Icebreaker

While reviewing what users said of this app, I found that it kept coming back that music is a good icebreaker.  It's non-intimidating to start a casual relationship by asking someone about the music that they like.  With Tastebuds, because musical preference is already a common ground of interest, it makes it easy to start a noncontroversial conversation.

If Tastebuds does not fit your needs, there are many other dating apps to try.  Today I'll go over two dating apps you may be interested in: Tinder and Coffee Meets Bagel.

Tinder is one of the most popular dating apps.  Matching is done by swiping on this app.  A swipe right means you are interested, and a swipe left means you're not.  You also have the option to pay for Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold, which allows you to get access to super swipes.  Super swipes can be used to let potential matches know you are very interested in them.  Setting up an account on Tinder is very simple.  You will need a Facebook account.  

Tinder will use Facebook to let you know if you have mutual friends with a match. After you connect your Facebook account, you can select up to six pictures from your Facebook photo album.  Similar to Tastebuds, this dating app does not ask in-depth questions.  Instead, it has you write a short bio.  Once you find a match, you can message more about yourself.  Unfortunately, the only way to sort through people is to swipe left or right.  You will not be able write your preferences. Besides this disadvantage, Tinder is a great dating app to use if you want a simple and easy to use app.

Coffee Meets Bagel is easy to use.  It is not an in-depth dating app, but it still asks several questions about yourself, such as your job, location, and height.  The maximum number of users you can like for free within 24 hours is five people. Although this may not seem like a lot, this forces you to consider each person rather than rushing through.  A disadvantage to this site is that there is no desktop version.

This means that if you don't have a smartphone to download the app, you cannot use this dating app.  A Facebook account and cell phone number is required when setting up your account.  It only takes around 10 minutes to set up, which is the average time.  If you are looking for a simple, popular dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel is a good choice.
