Tips for Kissable Lips on Your Wedding Day

Kissable lips on your wedding day is as  essential as eating ice cream is on a hot summer day, it is pretty important. Especially if your wedding is in the lovely, dry season of winter, you may need some extra help to prevent your lips from becoming chapped and flakey. Besides going straight to good old chapstick and vaseline, here are some fun alternatives that will make your lips totally kissable when it comes time for your groom to “kiss the bride”.

1. Use a Lip Scrub

Rose Lip Scrub

This heavenly smelling solution to dry and chapped lips will rock your world. To create this lip scrub, you will need:

  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of rosewater
  • optional: 2-3 drops of your choice in food coloring

First mix the rosewater and sugar in a bowl together until they are well combined, then slowly start to add the oil. If you want a fluffier scrub, add less oil then suggested, but for a smoother scrub add all of the oil. Adding the food coloring comes last, but after it is added you can transfer the scrub into a fun mason jar or container of your choice that can seal properly. Get fresh lips with this revitalizing and refreshing lip scrub!

Cotton Candy Lip Scrub

This delicious tasting, and looking, lip scrub should be on your list of sugar scrubs to try! For this scrumptious scrub, you will need:

  • 5 tablespoons of sugar, divided
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons of olive oil, divided
  • 6 drops of cotton candy flavoring, divided
  • 2 drops of blue food coloring
  • 2 drops of pink food coloring

Now in case you were wondering what all of the “divided” business is about, you will be making three different scrubs; a blue, a pink, and a white. You will then mix all three together to create an awesome product. The pink scrub consists of mixing together 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 drops of pink food coloring, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil. The blue scrub is the exact same but you will be using the blue food coloring in place of the pink. Lastly, the white scrub is pure sugar itself, so for the final product, put the pink and blue scrubs on opposite sides of the bowl and then just pour the white down the middle to create a cotton candy look. Rub on your lips and rinse to make your lips extremely kissable.

2. Wear Lip Balm at Night

Wearing lip balm at night will help prevent your lips from getting dry throughout the night. Also, by moisturizing right before bed with a quality lip balm, your lips will have the night to soften and become nice and plump. If you are lacking a lip balm, olive oil and coconut oil make great alternatives. This tip for getting kissable lips will leave your lips forever soft and attractive.

3. Use Vitamin E

Instead of going for the cheaper lipstick brands, go for the more expensive brands because they often contain Vitamin E. Vitamin E is a great moisturizer and helps repair damaged skin, so obviously this is something that you want on your lips. Lipstick with Vitamin E is the secret to making your lips look extremely kissable and fresh in any color you want.

4. Drink Water

When dehydrated, lips are one of the first things to dry up and look flaky, so stay hydrated to have glorious lips that are plump and moisturized. This is an easy tip to having kissable for your wedding day that requires little time and little effort.

5. Teeth Care

Although teeth are technically not apart of your lips, clean teeth are correlated with having fresher, better looking lips. When your teeth are cleaner, your lipstick tends to pop more, instantly drawing attention to your healthy and beautiful lips. This tip is an easy one to execute as long as you tend to have good oral hygiene.

All of these tips will help you lips look extra kissable on your wedding day. As if your fiancé doesn’t already find it impossible not to give you a quick peck, you will be absolutely irresistible if you put into action these lip hacks.
