What Other People Are Saying

Grooves Make It Hard To Clean
The grooves may work well for little hands to grip the cup, but it also makes it hard to wash the cups and get them thoroughly clean. The Tommee Tippee cup pieces are full of nooks and crannies. If it is not cleaned well, mildew can quite easily form in the moisture sensitive areas. Some people disassemble, clean, and air-dry both sippy cup brands after each use, and don’t have cleanliness issues.
Here is a comment from a customer about the ease of cleaning
“With sippee cups, I prefer to quickly wash them and then leave them to air dry on some type of rack. That doesn’t work so well when there are so many grooves and crevices. I can’t feel sure they’ll be free of mold because I reside in a humid climate. So personally, I prefer fewer grooves and simpler parts that can air dry without mold getting an easy grip anywhere.”
Hard To Suck The Drink Out But Good Transition Cup
A common complaint with this type of sippy cup design is that the fluid doesn’t come out too easily. Some people felt like this cup wouldn’t be the best first sippy cup for a child since they have to work so hard to get the drink out.
A customer explains,
“These serve as a nice transition from bottle to cup, in my opinion. They still require a little sucking to get the liquid out – due to the back-flow preventer – but they do teach hand, cup, and mouthpiece orientation.”
Transparent Is Good
Some of the parents commented on how their children like the transparent quality of the cup. Their children could easily see the drinks in the cup which made it fun for the child. A parent commented that their child, “loves the colors and the fact he can see his drink in the cup.”

My Conclusion
The Tommee Tippee Hold Tight Trainer Sippee Cup is a transition cup that is spill-proof. Some parents felt like it was hard to clean with all of the grooves and also hard to suck from. People did like the transparent quality so that they and their child could see how much drink was left in the cup. I hope that my review of the Tommee Tippee Hold Tight Trainer Sippee Cup can help you decide if it is the right sippy cup for your family!
