The Balance Rewards Program lets you earn points for buying selected items. You can then redeem those points at a later date for in-store dollar credit. If you'd like, you can sign up to become a member when you checkout, at their photo kiosks, by downloading the Walgreens App, or by visiting their website and joining online.
pros
- You will be able to earn and redeem points for merchandise
- You can use your phone number at checkout instead of carrying your card
Cons
- Points must be redeemed within six consecutive months in order to remain active in the program.
- Points will not be earned in a transaction where Register Rewards are used
What Other People Are Saying

"I have been a member of the rewards program for quite some time now and I have to say, EVERY time I go in there I save money. I don’t always purchase items that give you rewards points, but almost every item has a savings if you have the rewards card. The biggest savings to date was $5 off a $20 transaction of just little everyday items. Definitely worth getting the card!"

Customer Service

The reviews turned in for Walgreens customer service overall is good. If you have questions about their rewards program, you can ask a staff member when you are in the store or contact a customer service person online. Because this is a program that they promote, any sales person at Walgreens should be able to answer your questions.
My Conclusion
If you shop at Walgreens, you really can't go wrong with signing up for the Balance Rewards Program. The points may take awhile to add up, but if you are shopping there anyways, it will pay off in savings to have the card. Just make sure to redeem your points within 6 months or your card will become inactive. I hope that my review has helped you realize a way you could be saving money every month!
