Dear Mom, Mommy, The Best Mom Around,

Today is the day. I officially go from being your little girl into starting my own family. I officially have to remember everything you’ve taught me about being a wife and a mother and start putting them to good use. I am so grateful for everything that you’ve done for me. I know that I don’t say it enough, I know that I’ve snapped at you every minute of this wedding, I know that I’ve made you feel rotten, but I am so grateful for all your help that went into making this day possible.

More than that, I am so blessed by all that you’ve done for me up to this big day. For coming to all my sporting events, dance competitions, club meetings, and performances. Thank you for moving me into college and always being a phone call away. Thank you for letting me cry to you when another boy broke my heart, or when I complained about not being noticed by another. Thank you for telling me to save my heart for the right man, and for loving the man that I have chosen and accepting him into our family.

I am so glad that you’re not only my mom but my very best friend. You have always been the strongest person that I’ve known, and I hope that I can be half the wife that you have been. I know that even though I’ll be on my own with my husband, I’ll still be able to call you with all the questions I’ll still have. I know that I can call you when I don’t know how to make dinner, when I don’t know how to plunge my toilet, or when I don’t know what the rash is that is growing on my skin.

I want you to know that today isn’t just my day. It’s your day too. Because you have raised me into the woman, I am today, the woman who is loved by an incredible man. Thank you for all that you do and everything that you are. I hope you always know that I’ll never be too old to sit on your lap.

Love you forever,

Your daughter
