From Vineyards to Seafood: Fun Bachelorette Party Ideas

Happy Monday everyone!!

I am sure that many of you out there are getting closer and closer to your wedding dates and I am so excited for you! Like I said in my last blog post, not a lot of planning has been done when it comes to my own wedding. But I am at the thirteen month mark (which is still forever away), so yay!

This past weekend, Dan was away at his friend’s bachelor party. They decided to go away for a nice, relaxing weekend in the Poconos in Pennsylvania, with just some beer, the Olympics, and a few yard games. This got me thinking. What kind of bachelorette party do I want to have? Who should I have plan it? If my friends plan it, will it be too crazy?

As I had said in an earlier blog post, I have had a pretty crazy past, but I am done with that party phase of life. I’m going to be a wife, and eventually a mother. I’m not sure I want to drink through inappropriate straws or be a sloppy mess and not even end up remembering my night. Why is your last few days of freedom something to “celebrate” before you lose them? Shouldn’t you be excited to get “tied down?”

So being without Dan – and suffering a cold – I had a long weekend to think about what kinda of “party” I would like.shutterstock_295625084

I am so excited for marriage and to spend the rest of my life with someone. I don’t need a huge BANG to send me out of single life because my main focus is respecting Dan. There are so many fun things to do and they were all simultaneously flying through my head! So if you don’t want a crazy bachelorette party like me, read on for some great ideas!

Visit a vineyard

So one thing I thought about was a fun night stay at a vineyard somewhere! I definitely like the idea of a little get away that doesn’t have to be a whole weekend affair. But just one night of relaxing in robes with a glass of wine in hand, or maybe a nice IPA (I have always been a beer girl).

Little side note – I have officially asked two people to be in my bridal party so far and they have said YES! I would love to go into how I asked them, but I need to ask them all first!

Combined Party

Anyway, back to bachelorette parties! Thankfully I got lucky and I have a man who has never, nor wants to go to a strip club. He is one of the most laid back people, so I know his bachelor party will be pretty chill as well. He has even mentioned to me a few times about having a combined party. Although I think this is a great idea, I still think everyone needs one night to themselves. Although a combined party would still be nice for Dan and I, so that all of our friends could come together and celebrate. But definitely a night for my girlfriends and I would still be fun!

Spa Weekend

Another fun idea is a spa weekend with my friends! NOTHING sounds better than a weekend of pampering right before getting married. A nice back massage, a facial, maybe even go crazy and soak my body in some mud, and maybe throw in some champagne and a nice dinner. The more I talk about it the more excited I get! Not just for the bachelorette party but for marriage in general. I mean it ‘s still a year away and I know a little getaway will be SO needed after a year of wedding planning but I also know Dan will be on my mind the entire time. I know everyone goes through the planning period and they have to wait about a year until their wedding and I don’t know how they do it! I’m going crazy over here thinking the day is never going to come.

Beach Getaway

Next on our wedding planning list is to get Dan’s wedding band, and we’ve found some really awesome ones. I know there is still so much to do and thinking about the bachelorette party is definitely fun, but I’m just ready for the day to get here already, or at least to get to the one year mark! When you are marrying your best friend, I don’t feel like a big crazy party is what you need. That’s what the wedding is for! But personally, that is just my opinion. I mean, I definitely will have a drink in my hand but no strippers, no inappropriate decorations, just me and my girls spending the weekend talking about how I get to spend forever with my best friend. He is all I need and really all I want. I cannot wait for everything that is to come our way, and I cannot wait to stand at that altar and say “I do”.

Until next Monday!
