Healthy Restaurant Review: Noodles and Company

At Noodles and Company they specialize in…you guessed it! Noodles.  Each dish contains their signature noodles along with many different toppings and concoctions that make up a meal.  When looking through their menu, I noticed that almost everything was what people often call “comfort foods.”

You can choose from selections such as Wisconsin Mac and Cheese or Japanese Noodles and everything in between.  I counted up 19 main noodle based recipes on their menu, but the choices are even greater because Noodles and Company will serve you up a custom dish just the way you want it.  Do you want extra cheese on your Penne Rosa?  Or what about Spinach with your Japanese Pan Noodles?  Special requests are what make Noodles and Company unique. Each dish is cooked to order. So go ahead, get creative. The possibilities are endless!

Kids’ Menu

I liked the variety of choices on the kids’ menu.  It wasn’t your typical hot dogs, pizza,or fries kids’ menu. Instead, it included choices such as grilled chicken breast with dipping marinara, spaghetti and noodles, buttered noodles, and Wisconsin Mac and Cheese.  All but one of the kids choices had a veggie side.  And all had a serving of fruit included.

Shareables

There is a section on the menu called Shareables which basically looks like fun appetizers.  The choices are Korean BBQ Meatballs with Gochujang sauce (translated to Flavorful meatballs tossed with a sweet and spicy Korean-style Gochujang (go-choo-jang) barbeque sauce).  You can choose to order anywhere between 5 to 10 meatballs depending on how many you are sharing with or if it’s just for yourself.  Another shareable item that looks yummy is what they call Potstickers, which is chicken dumplings served with a soy dipping sauce. You can choose a serving of 3 or 6. The third and last shareable choice is Cheesy Garlic Bread which is parmesan and garlic butter melted over toasted petite baguette with Italian seasonings and marinara sauce. Choose 3 or 6 slices.

Soups

The menu has 3 soup choices to choose from.  The first is Thai Chicken which is coconut curry chicken soup with onion, cabbage, red bell pepper, lemongrass, lime, galangal, turmeric, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and shallots.  The second is Tomato Basil Bisque.  This soup is made up of rich and zesty tomato soup with cream, sherry, basil, and garlic.  The last choice of soup is a traditional favorite, Chicken Noodle Soup made with with chicken breast, celery, carrots, onion, and wavy egg noodles.

Salads

For the salads, you can choose between 3 large sized salads that are more like a meal or 2 side salads that are much smaller.  For the large salads, the first choice is Chicken Veracruz which is mixed greens topped with Roma tomato, red onion, chili-lime chicken, naturally raised bacon crumbles from naturally raised pork, fresh-cut corn, tossed with jalapeño ranch dressing and crispy jalapeños, fresh California avocados, and cilantro.  The second choice is Grilled Chicken Caesar made up of grilled chicken, romaine, focaccia croutons, traditional dressing, and parmesan.  The third and last choice of salad is called Med Salad with Chicken and it is made up of grilled chicken, romaine, mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, red onion, Kalamata olives, cavatappi pasta, spicy yogurt dressing, and feta cheese.

The two side salads are tossed green side salad or caesar side salad.

Pros

  • A wide variety of noodled dishes to choose from
  • Will custom make your dishes with the ingredients that you choose.
  • Large meal salads with lots of healthy ingredients

Cons

  •  Not in all of the states.

What Other People Are Saying

Noodles and Company

Nice Fast Casual Restaurant

Here is a sampling of many of the positive experiences that people shared after eating at Noodles and Company,

“This restaurant has a special place in my heart not only because everything you get there is amazing, but because the restaurant employees are so generous and nice. Me and my wife always come here and love the “fast casual” experience. There aren’t many restaurants that have this quick and easy type of thing! I also like how even though you do get your food fast, it is not treated like a fast food restaurant! Definitely will be returning. This has been one of my favorites for a long time! If you go I do suggest you get the buttered noodles OR the Wisconsin Mac and Cheese both will not disappoint!”

They Cater Too

The reviews from the catering services offered at Noodles and Company were very favorable. Here is a sampling of what people are saying about the catering there,

“We catered a Grad Party this past weekend with Noodles. They did an absolutely amazing job! The food was ready exactly when they said. They provided absolutely everything right down to the chafing pans, holders, and even matches to light the grill. The food exceeded expectations both in flavor and quantity. Our guests raved about the caesar salad, pesto cavatappi with parmesan chicken, and the huge desserts.”

What You’ll Spend

Noodles and Company

The prices of each menu item is not online because pricing and menus vary by location.  I did search other sources and found price lists at various locations. All seemed very reasonable to me.  I would call it fast food pricing, but with a casual fast food experience.

Customer Service

Noodles and Company

From what people are saying, the customer service is fast and friendly at Noodles and Company.  If you would rather not order at the establishment, you can save time by ordering online or on your mobile device.  When you arrive, you head straight to the pick-up register. Your meal will be ready to go.

My Conclusion

Noodles and Company offers a wide range of noodled dishes along with both large and side salads.  They also offer 3 types of soups and a kids’ menu that includes healthy choices with veggies and fruits as sides.  The pricing is right on for fast casual, not too high at all. What sets Noodles and Company out from the rest, though, is that they let you customize your dishes. You can order certain veggies or types of cheeses on whatever dish you’d like. I recommend Noodles and Company.  The only down side is that they aren’t yet in all of the states. I hope that my review has helped you discover a new healthy restaurant that you can try out!
